THE SEMIOLOGY OF MODERN ENGLISH SYNTAX

What learners of English language need – as second language users – is not just the simple description of the language grammar. They need other things more than that. They need to know the rules as the determiners of what should be spoken or written in every grammatical context and what should not be used. This often marks differences amidst learners who lay grip of the English grammar as their language of education (L2) and those who see it as a conventional code used for every expression as the language of their immediate environment at infancy (L1). The learner of English grammar should rather see the grammar as the gram code for the concerned learning and competitive perfection which requires a systematic treatment of issues from the known to the unknown. It is in the realisation of this principal purpose that this book is written.
