ON THE EVE OF A NEW YEAR - ATIKU

Image
the presidential candidate of the People Democratic Party (PDP) has given his goodwill message and wishes for the new year to be born tonight. My dear fellow citizens, As 2018 comes to an end and 2019 beckons, on behalf of my family and I, let me wish you and your family a very happy New Year in advance. In 2018, we became the world headquarters for extreme poverty, however, I am convinced that in 2019, if we chart a new course, we can become the world headquarters for hope and extreme devotion to the cause of lifting our people out of poverty. 2019 is as yet a blank page. The elegant defender was one of France’s unsung heroes at the World Cup at left-back and has been identified by Bayern Munich’s hierarchy as having the potential to become the cornerstone of the club’s next generation. Yet Atlético convinced Antoine Griezmann to stay in the face of interest from Barcelona last summer and are attempting to persuade the 22-year-old to follow suit. His €80m release clause would make Hernández the most expensive defender in history, with Bayern having reportedly indicated they are willing to pay it in January. RB Leipzig’s Timo Werner is another target for the German champions as they attempt to recover from their poor start. The 21-year-old’s displays for club and country have ensured Europe’s biggest clubs are on his trail, with Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester City and Bayern Munich the frontrunners as things stand. De Jong’s agent has said that a decision on his client’s future will be made “in the coming weeks” to avoid distraction...

Billionaires and big corporations decided they wanted more of the pie and they enlisted politicians to cut them a fatter slice.” Warren, 69, is entering what is likely to be a   crowded Democratic primary field seeking to take on Donald Trump. Those considering bids include a slew of fellow senators such as Cory Booker, Kamala Harris, Kirsten Gillibrand and Bernie Sanders, Joe Biden, the former vice-president, and former New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg. In her four and a half minute announcement video, Warren stressed the economic populist message that has brought her to national prominence. She mixed old family photos with charts showing the declining middle-class share of income and the gap between black...

The peopling of the Ancient Nsukka   Also read, The Origin and History of Nsukka Any sensitive researcher of prehistory, passing through the Lejja, Opi, Nsude villages around Nsukka area, must have a brief stopover to give a proper gaze at the wonders that are so peculiar from what are found elsewhere in the world where there are possible evidences of any form of organized life in the past. These are the glory of the Nsukka of antiquity proven through various technocratic exhibitions ranging from iron to bronze and finally a monumental structure that signals proves of organized society probably at the time when minds could not expressively highlight. Pottery had existed as a life style activity with which Nsukka still survives today. It is difficult to believe; but beholding the bronze work above depicting the features with which queen mothers were adorned and discovering that this bronze differs from any of the bronze found with any other civilization across the globe,...
