IGBOTAKO IN ONDO STATE CELEBRATES UTAKO DAY IN GRAND STYLE
Tell me why this community in Ondo State insistently speaks Yoruba other than Igbo when the have proofs of all the historical features that defined them as a later Igbo emigrants?
We have discussed their history succinctly in the paper Uju Festival in Igbo Land @ajuede.com. Utako day is the latest invented name for the rich cultural festival that embodies the etymological phase of the people of Igbotako as recent as from 2018.
Otherwise, this festival is traditionally marked out as "Aju Nkwu" . The reason is simple, they are gradually writing themselves off from the commonwealth of the Igbo nation because of the Nigerian factor.
