Bologna's Kingsley Michael Shows The Other Side Of His Game On Serie A Debut
Flying Eagles star Kingsley Michael is the latest Nigerian player to make his debut in the Serie A, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
Fresh from signing a new five-year contract with Bologna, Michael made his first ever appearance in the Italian top flight as The Red and Blues held Hellas Verona to a 1-1 draw at Stadio Marc'Antonio Bentegodi on Sunday evening.
The 2015 U17 World Cup winner was named in the starting line-up and played for 77 minutes before he was substituted.
He was named in the match day squad twice, against Cagliari and Udinese, towards the tail end of the 2017-18 season but was an unused substitute in both matches.
Wearing the number 99 on the back of his jersey, Michael's defensive qualities did not go unnoticed as he made two tackles, one interception and one clearance, and won a team-high five aerial battles.
The 19-year-old committed the joint most fouls during the game, four in total, according to stats from OPTA.
