15 policemen attached Shops in Lagos

A total of 15 policemen attached to the Lagos State Taskforce who were caught destroying properties in a viral video have been arrested. 

The policemen are currently being tried at the provost department of the state command headquarters on the orders of the State Commissioner of Police Hakeem Odumosu. 

A video of some policemen from the Lagos State Taskforce seen destroying traders properties had gone viral on the social media. The inspector General of Police, Adamu Abubakar, ordered the arrest and trial of the policemen identified in the video. 

A statement from the Police reads " They are currently subjected to internal disciplinary proceedings known as Orderly Room trial at the Provost Department, State Command Headquarters Ikeja, to serve as deterrent to others. 

Their conduct is totally condemned as it fell short of our professional standards and rules of engagement. "Police officers involved in the enforcement of restriction orders across the state are further warned to exercise their discretionary powers with utmost professionalism, compassion and respect for the rights of the citizens. 

The Commissioner of Police reaffirm his stance on zero tolerance for impunity by Police Officers.
