Taliban Begins Sending Those Displaced In Kabul Back Home
The Taliban has been sending those displaced in Kabul back home. On Saturday, the Associated Press reported people living in tents in a local park were sent back to their home provinces due to limited government budget.
However, some of the people said they were nervous to return home as their homes were destroyed from Taliban fighting. Officials with the terrorist group said they have arranged the return of more than 1,000 families so far.
“The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan made a decision to collect all the brothers displaced from other provinces who came to Kabul and send them back to their homes,” announced Qari Abdul Matin Ahmadzai, director of Refugees and Repatriation of Kabul province. “We made the decision to send them back because the government doesn’t have enough in the budget. That’s why we asked all the NGOs and other charities located in Kabul to help us.”
While Taliban officials said those being sent back have received aid, many living in the country were still waiting for support as well.
