DSS’s Serial Disobedience Includes 2022 Court Order On Release Of Nnamdi Kanu – Lawyer, Ejimakor Knocks Nigerian Government
Ejimakor made the call on Wednesday after operatives of the DSS engaged in a free-for-all fight with their Nigerian Correctional Service (NCS) counterparts on Tuesday at the Federal High Court in Lagos over the custody of the suspended Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele.
Barrister Aloy Ejimakor, special counsel to the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has called on President Bola Tinubu to stop the Department of State Services (DSS) from serial disobedience of court orders.
Ejimakor in a tweet on his Twitter handle said that DSS was in era of disobedience of court orders, most famous of which, according to him, was the continued detention of the IPOB leader, Kanu after the Federal High Court sitting in Umuahia, Abịa State capital, in October 2022 declared his detention unlawful.
He said that the onus was on President Tinubu to stop what he described as a serial illegality.
Ejimakor's tweet read, "This era of disobedience of court Orders by DSS is a reminder of the most famous one it disobeyed: The 2022 Order of the Federal High Court (Umuahia), declaring that the detention of MAZI NNAMDI KANU is unlawful. It lies with TINUBU (@officialABAT) to stop this serial illegality."
