Video: Jihadists Say Hamas Members Were Each Promised $10K, Apartment For Bringing Hostages Back To Gaza
Interrogation footage featuring captured Palestinian Jihadists revealed that Islamic terrorists were each promised $10,000 and an apartment in exchange for kidnapping Israeli hostages and transporting them to Gaza.
The video was released by Israel’s security agency, Shin Bet.
“In Gaza, whoever brings a hostage gets a grant – an apartment and $10,000,” he says in footage released by Shin Bet. “The instructions were to kidnap elderly women and children … clear the houses and kidnap as many prisoners as possible,” he told the interrogator.
Another militant terrorist in the video says that after shooting a woman who was already dead, his leader had reprimanded him for wasting ammunition.
“Her body was lying on the floor. I shot her, and my commander yelled at me for wasting bullets on a dead body,” he says, according to the recording of one of six terrorists interrogated.
The commander had insinuated that distinguishing innocent civilians from IDF soldiers was not necessary when operations were being carried out, according to another Jihadist who spoke in the footage.
“Two [terrorists] went into the house. … We heard voices inside. Another two [terrorists] came in. There was one [Israeli] lying on the floor next to the door. I don’t know if he was dead, but there was blood next to him,” one Hamas member says. “Inside there was one wounded man … I think a whole family. In their pajamas. The wounded man was in his underwear. A woman came out wearing a dress … then another with a dress. [Then] a boy and a girl,” he continues.
Additionally, the Jihadist later admits that “smoke and human shields” were utilized in operations in order to instill fear and to remove Israelis out of their homes. He also says that they were directed to “shoot” pets if any got in the way.
