Florida to Conduct Investigaf over Trump Assassination Attemp
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis announced that his state will conduct its own investigation into the second assassination attempt on former president Donald Trump.
"The State of Florida will be conducting its own investigation regarding the attempted assassination at Trump International Golf Club," DeSantis wrote in a post on X.
"The people deserve the truth about the would be assassin and how he was able to get within 500 yards of the former president and current GOP nominee," he continued.
The alleged would-be assassin has been identified as Ryan Wesley Routh. He was allegedly armed with an assault rifle outside Trump International Golf Club while Trump was playing the fifth hole on Sunday afternoon.
Secret Service fired on Routh, who was able to get way, but was later stopped by authorities and arrested. He was found with two backpacks and a GoPro camera. The rifle was recovered from the bushes outside the golf course.
This is the second attempt made on Trump's life in two months.
