Lagos discharges 49 COVID-19 patients

Lagos State has discharged 49 COVID-19 patients undergoing treatment in its isolation centres. This brings the total number of discharged patients in the state to 187,  The PUNCH  reports. The Lagos State Ministry of Health made this known via its  Twitter  handle. It tweeted, “49 #COVID19Lagos patients: 28 females and 21 males including a foreign national – a Greek – were today discharged from our Isolation facilities at Yaba and Onikan to reunite with the society “The patients: 18 from IDH, Yaba and 31 from Onikan Isolation Centre have fully recovered and tested negative to #COVID19 in two consecutive readings. “With this, the total number of patients successfully managed and discharged in Lagos is now 187.” Follow us on twitter (ajuede.com) or on Instagram (ajuedeman) for details of the global situation presently.

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s partner Carrie Symonds on Wednesday gave birth to a “healthy baby boy” in a London hospital, a spokesman for the couple said. “Both mother and baby are doing very well,” the spokesman said in a surprise announcement, as Symonds was not thought to be due until later in the year. Nigerian singer, Harrysong has pleaded with President Buhari to stop borrowing money from other countries. The singer advised Buhari to invest in the education of the country’s citizens instead. He took to his Instagram page to advice Buhari after he heard that Buhari’s request for N850 billion loan was approved by the Senate. He wrote: “ Buhari invest in education, it’s never too late. Lockdown: 20 die in Lagos, Ogun crashes – FRSC

The Federal Road Safety Corps says it recorded 57 road crashes with 20 deaths in Ogun and Lagos States in the four weeks of the COVID-19 lockdown. FRSC Zonal Commanding Officer in-charge of the two states, Mr Samuel Obayemi, made this known to the  News Agency of Nigeria  on Tuesday in Lagos. Obayemi, an Assistant Corps Marshal, said the crashes occurred within the four weeks of the lockdown in Lagos State and three weeks of lockdown in Ogun. “The lockdown directive which was announced by His Excellency, President Muhammadu Buhari, on 29th March was enforced by FRSC Operatives in Zone 2 which comprises Lagos and Ogun states. “Although the enforcement started at different dates with Lagos starting first because there was an already existing lockdown directive by the State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, while lockdown in Ogun State commenced on April 4, 2020. “The goal of the operation was to enforce the directive on restriction of movement in both states. “An an...
