Surprise: ASUU Begs FG to Extend Lockdown of Universities

   The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) on Monday kicked against the reopening of schools by the Federal Government due to the COVID-19 pandemic currently ravaging the country. Prof. Biodun Ogunyemi, ASUU National President, spoke with the with News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Ota, Ogun. According to him, the Federal Government needed to address the challenges of education sector before it can talk of reopening schools. N-Power Batch C not hijacked’

The Advocates of Social Justice for All has raised an alarm over a plot to blackmail Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Hajiya Sadiya Farouq, on the proposed Batch-C of the N-Power scheme.  The Federal Government officially opened the portal for interested applicants into June 2020 Batch C  of the N-Power social investment scheme, on Friday, midnight.  Batch A started in September 2016 while Batch B kicked off in August 2018. Just as thousands of young Nigerians kept vigil to commence registration, it was alleged that the exercise had already been hijacked.  In a statement signed by its National President, Timothy Tiza, in Abuja, ASJA rubbished the claim. As the protests were not convenient for Hezbollah when they broke out in October 2019, they are still not convenient with their renewed strength now. (Hezbollah is accused by the protesters as being the major factor of the deterioration of the Lebanese economy due to its activities that prevent foreign aid and economic investments.)
