In an interview with the AP, Francis criticises laws criminalising homosexuality and calls on bishops to welcome LGBTQ people. Francis said bishops need to adapt and recognise the dignity of everyone [Andrew Medichini/AP] Published On 25 Jan 2023 25 Jan 2023 Pope Francis has criticised laws that criminalise homosexuality as “unjust”, saying God loves all his children just as they are and called on Catholic bishops who support the laws to welcome LGBTQ people into the church. “Being homosexual isn’t a crime,” Francis said during an interview on Tuesday with The Associated Press. Francis  acknowledged that Catholic bishops in some parts of the world support laws that criminalise homosexuality or discriminate against the LGBTQ community, and he himself referred to the issue in terms of “sin”. Video 2023 Oscar nominations A recap of the 95th Academy Award contenders after nominees announced on Jan. 24 in Hollywood. "Till" director Chinonye Chukwu  accused the Oscars as well as the entertainment industry of being "aggressively committed to upholding whiteness" after she failed to earn a "Best Director" nomination. The 2023 Oscar nominees for the 95th Academy Awards were announced on Tuesday morning with the usual surprises and snubs that come from the movies that are recognized.  One snub included "Till," a biographical drama about Mamie Till-Bradley and her search for justice after the murder of her 14-year-old son Emmett Till. Although the movie received critical acclaim, it failed to receive any nominations in any category. Because of this, Chukwu said the Academy Awards are "upholding whiteness" and "perpetuating" misogyny against Black women. Haley Bennett, Jayme Lawson, Sean Patrick Thomas, Jalyn Hall, Danielle...

(Photo By Nasa/Getty Images) OAN Roy Francis UPDATED 9:21 AM PT – Tuesday, January 24, 2023 The earth’s core, which is approximately 1,800 miles below the surface of the earth, has seemingly stopped rotating and may now be reversing its rotation. Earth’s inner core is essentially a solid metal ball about 75 percent of the size of the moon, surrounded by a liquid outer core. The outer core allows the inner core to spin freely and causes the earth’s magnetic fields that protect the surface from harmful UV rays. Though the inner core cannot be studied directly, deep seismic waves caused by earthquakes are trackable and are able to be translated to give scientists an image of what is happening with the core. Seismologists at Peking University in Beijing Yi Yang, and Xiaodong Song, analyzed the seismic waves dating back to the 1960s. The two scientists foun...
