At Least 13 Dead, Hundreds Of Thousands Without Electricity In Huge Argentina Storm

(Photo by LUIS ROBAYO/AFP via Getty Images) At least 13 people have died in a big thunderstorm that left the whole city of Bahia Blanca, Argentina, without electricity and hundreds evacuated.  On Saturday, a huge thunderstorm hit the port city, causing the roof of a sports club to collapse, killing at least 13 people who were sheltering from the storm inside.  The mayor of Bahia Blanca, Federico Susbielles, also confirmed the death toll in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter. “Unfortunately, the emergency service confirms the death of 13 people in the Bahiense del Norte club,” Susbielles said. North Korea Fires Ballistic Missile Into Sea, Blames U.S. For Escalating Military Tensions

According to South Korea, North Korea launched a short-range ballistic missile into the sea on Sunday, potentially as a protest against recent moves by Seoul and Washington to strengthen their nuclear deterrent against North Korean threats. The missile was fired at approximately 10:38 p.m. from a location close to Pyongyang, the capital of North Korea, and traveled 354 miles before splashing down in the sea, according to the Joint Chiefs of Staff of South Korea. The South Korean military announced that it was providing the launch data to the U.S. and Japan for additional analysis while keeping an eye out for potential North Korean military actions.
